Cathy Needs a Guardian Angel

Cathy 6.JPG - 18373 Bytes
My name is Cathy, and I currently live at Animal Aid with my other K9 friends. All of us dream about being in a real forever home one day, but I need a special friend now. The vet says my knees and front legs must be repaired, so I can walk better and enjoy life the way all labs should. They will do the three surgeries, but I must have a foster home for recovery and cannot stay at the shelter. I will be confined to a crate most of the time except for potty breaks and very limited exercise. The vets must check on my progress, so I will need a ride back and forth. It could take as long as a year before I can return to the shelter again. If you or someone you know could be my Guardian Angel, please call the shelter at 865-0511 and ask for our medical director. Animal Aid will pay all my expenses.
All you do is give me a place to rest and some love. Heart.jpg - 2286 BytesThank you!

The Animal Aid Society is a "No-Kill" dog shelter. It is a nonprofit organization which receives no funding from state or federal agencies. All of the funds required to maintain the shelter and care for the dogs come from donations and special fund-raising events. Donations to the shelter are tax deductible.
Our dogs are not euthanized. Dogs are kept at the shelter until placed in a home; however, this means that new dogs can only be accepted by the shelter after previous ones have been adopted or permanently placed in foster care. All our dogs are:
  • Examined by a veterinarian.
  • Receive medical care as needed.
  • Current on vaccinations.
  • Spayed or neutered.
  • Regularly walked and excercised.
  • Socialized and Loved.
  • Temperament tested.
  • Basic Obedience Trained
    New program
The new owner will be able to register the micro-chip at no cost and no annual renewal fees are required.

How to Adopt

We hope that you find your new best friend when you look through this site. When you find a dog(s) that you would like to meet, come and visit with the dog at the shelter, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton. If all goes well and you like the dog as much as he/she likes you and you decide to adopt, you will be given a Pre-Adopt Form to fill out. We may have more than one pre-adopt per dog, so it may take up to ten days to verify all the information you have provided. We will then contact you.
Once your family, including any dogs, have also met with the dog you wish to adopt, you will then complete the Adoption Form.

The adoption fee is $130.00.
