each weekday for special surgical and
medical procedures,
we ask that you PLEASE
CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT TIME for your
weekday office visit.
Drop-Off Policy
If your work schedule does not permit
you to schedule an outpatient visit, you may
arrange to leave your pet with us on week-
days. Please pick up your pet by 6:00 p.m.
that evening so he won't have to spend a
night away from home and we won't have
to assess you an additional boarding fee.
Only the veterinarian is qualified to
prescribe medications. To request refills of
your pet’s medication, please call ahead.
But please remember that it is necessary to
reevaluate your pet’s condition periodically
before renewing certain medications.
To serve you better, we carry a number
of quality non prescription pet care products
in our reception area, including flea control
products and grooming aids.
Emergencies are handled on a priority
basis during hospital hours. After hours,
emergency service is available at the
EMERGENCY VETERINARY CLINIC located on
Route 17 in Tabb. The phone number is
874-8115.
Visitation
You are always welcome to visit your
hospitalized pet during regular office hours.
Please understand, however, that many
pets do become more distressed following
these visits. As long as your visits are a
positive factor in your pet’s recovery, we
will certainly encourage them.
Grooming
Our clinic employs two full-time
groomers who are experienced in handling
and grooming all breeds of dogs and cats.
Services extend from the simple bath and
nail trim to custom stylings.
All fees are due and payable at the time
of your office visit. We accept cash,
MasterCard, VISA and personal checks.
We will happily provide you with an
estimate for any medical service and
discuss our fees in advance.
For certain extensive procedures or for
lengthy boarding periods, we will ask for an
advance deposit.
When you must be away, we are
delighted to have your pet board with us.
Our kennel area and exercise runs are
entirely enclosed, heated and air conditioned. Pets are admitted for boarding during our normal operating hours.
Releasing time may be scheduled then.
We do not release boarding pets on Sundays or holidays when the office is closed.
We will provide food for your pet.
However, if you prefer to provide your
own pet food, you are welcome to do so.
Each boarding dog will be hand walked
twice daily during his stay.
For the protection of all pets boarding
with us, we require that every animal have
current vaccinations administered by a
veterinarian. Likewise, it is required that
ALL ANIMALS be dipped upon arrival to
ensure that they are free of fleas and ticks.
There is a small additional charge for this
flea dipping service.
Dogs boarding more than 3 days and
cats boarding more than 5 days will receive
a complimentary bath before going home.
A boarding visit is also an ideal time to
schedule more extensive bathing and
grooming services for your pet.
Boarding space is always at a premium
over major holidays. It is wise to MAKE
YOUR RESERVATIONS well in advance during
these busy times.
When necessary, we offer consultations and referrals locally and through
Virginia Tech and the North Carolina
State University Schools of Veterinary
Medicine.
Dr. Joseph E. Wallace founded the
Magruder-Tabb Animal Clinic in 1989.
A native of York County, Dr. Wallace
graduated from the University of Tennessee and earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia Maryland
Regional College in 1986.
In addition to Dr. Wallace, the
Magruder-Tabb Animal Clinic employs a
part-time veterinarian and a trained staff of
10, including a licensed veterinary technician.
