The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one
that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the
wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world...When all other friends desrt, he remains.

Bess came from another shelter and we know nothing of her past.
She was very skittish and unsure of herself when she first
arrived but slowly she is gaining confidence. Once she gets to
know you she is affectionate and generous with her kisses.
She will need another companion dog in her new home to
reassure her and she is pictured here with her pal Rascal.

Dogs are, after all, man's best friend. The least we can do is try
to understand then a little better.

to accept sudden outbursts of affection, and not to be upset
by a few scratches on your car."
- Will Stanton -

Fergus came to Animal Aid as part of an amazing team effort to save 15 hounds just
hours before their time was up. Fergus is a dapper Treeing Walker Coonhound. The
perfect combination of stately and sweet, he yearns for a family of his own. He has
a great personality and enjoys a romp in the play area, a tickle behind his big ears,
and a snooze in the sun. Come visit this hunky hound!
We are so proud of our intake coordinator for being part of a multi-shelter rescue effort.

"No one...appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as a dog does."
- Christopher Morley -
At first Bristol backs away from strangers but after some soothing words of comfort
and a little time, she becomes less fearful. Although a little hesitant at first to have
a leash put on, Bristol enjoys going for a walk. Some leash training will help her.
She also enjoys playing with other dogs in her playgroup. All this sweet girl needs
is that special someone who will give her the love and attention she deserves.

This dog has separation anxiety and needs to have another dog in the family.

A good Samaritan found me and knew I needed a good home. I just love being with
people and will need someone to spend time with me to help learn basic skills.
I like playing with toys and would like to join in some family games.
This happy boy is ready to start the good times .... are you ready for me?
